Can you read it?
Visibility. Can the sign be seen?
Legibility. Is the sign legible from a distance?
Comprehensibility. Does it give clear instruction?
Credibility. Can it be trusted?
Visibility, make sure it’s seen first, the Kurvex Wayfinding System is designed
to stand out from the background, thats why the symbols and typography in the system
have a strong family resemblance. If the pedestrian is in unfamiliar territory the
Kurvex Wayfinding System will quickly become the recognisable point of information
and a source of direction.
Our system offers optimum visibility for the pedestrian in an unfamiliar environment,
the the typeface used has been specifically designed for signage and the team of
designers at Kurvex have taken in to account factors such as reading angles, colour
and layout because these elements affect legibility.
DDA - The Disability Discrimination Act
At Kurvex we are fully aware of The DDA requirements relating to signage. However,
we believe there is more to meeting the needs of disabled users than simply installing
tactile signs. We do not believe signage for the disabled should be considered simply
out of political correctness in order to meet the requirements of legislation, but
must be part of a complete solution to aid all user groups alike.
